This is a thank you letter addressed to His Holiness the Dalai Lama, as a result of my journey of emotional and spiritual healing. Alhough I might never receive an answer from him this was a huge step to give voice my intentions: write my own book and blog to spread happiness and love in this world that need it so much.

I hope this letter finds you in good health. Your kind words and wisdom brought an infinite light and love to my heart as reading The Book of JOY was an experience that totally transformed my life.
I have always felt that deep inside me there is a dark place that tends to feel depressed and believes it is not worth of being loved. While struggling with those feelings the Universe has put your message in my path, and each one of your words brought to me tears of love, compassion, gratitude, peace and joy, in an experience that I can only describe as a greater connection with humanity. Sometimes I feel very lonely (like in exile as I moved to UK but all my family remains in Colombia) but as the Tibetan saying says: “Wherever you have friends that’s your country, and wherever you receive love that’s your home” so now I feel less lonely and more connected with all the 7 billion people going though similar pains, I feel I am always giving and receiving love.
I deeply believe that giving happiness is my own source of happiness. My purpose and my reason to be alive is to help people live at their Happiest now. I can’t thank you enough for sharing your message of love. It is my dream to meet you, but I thought of sharing of my love and appreciation for your message by writing a letter, as I am aware that you are not doing further presentations due to your health.
Since I read your message I have been practicing improving my public speaking skills to become a vehicle of happiness and love. This have had a profound impact on me as now I believe happiness is a skill that we all can train, and the ultimate source of lasting happiness is within us but only accessible when we share it with the world. As you have said, there will be always some suffering on the fabric of life but sharing the message of happiness and joy brings me far more joy than doing it for myself. For example, I had a beautiful experience inviting an audience to play “The movie of Joy”: visualising together in our minds what you described as the Joy meditation. I was so inspired that I even created movie tickets for all of them as you can see in the picture attached!. Also, somehow at my workplace I have won the award of “Most inspirational member of staff” just by cultivating gratitude and happiness on my thoughts and interactions.
I feel very grateful with Your Holiness, the Archbishop Desmon Tutu, Douglas Abrams and everyone else that helped to produce your most recent book that has taught me how humility, humour, gratitude, compassion, forgiveness and generosity are all pillars to my own joy. Also you have changed my view of life as now spiritual giving by teaching others and spreading a positive message are my main priorities.
I am so inspired that I have started a book project to called Happiness + Purpose = Profit. To collect 100 letters of advice worldwide on How to be happy, including topics like finding your purpose, following your passion, and making a living doing what you love while changing the world for the best. The purpose of this book is to create an inspiring and motivating book full of positive messages. I would be extremely happy is you would be able to send me a letter with your advice on happiness to open this book. I can understand if you are too busy with other commitments but any piece of advice from you would mean a lot for me. Or maybe there is someone from your office that might be interested in collaborating for this project.
